UND WIND ENSEMBLE & CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL SYMPHONIC BAND PRESENT COMBINED CONCERT

The University of North Dakota Wind Ensemble & the Central High School Symphonic Band will present a combined concert on Monday, November 24, at 7:30 p.m. The performance will be held at the Chester Fritz Auditorium on the UND campus. Tickets, available at the door, are $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for students and senior citizens, or $12.00 per family.

The Central High School Symphonic Band, directed by Christie Aleshire, will open the concert with a program that includes the classic Folk Song Suite of Ralph Vaughan Williams and Roland Barrett's They Stood At The Edge Of The Sky, as well as an arrangement of George Gershwin's Fascinating Rhythm. The UND Wind Ensemble, Dr. James Popejoy, conductor, will include in their program Three Japanese Dances of Bernard Rogers, as well as new works by Jay Bocook and Frank Ticheli. Dr. Anne Christopherson, Associate Professor of Voice at UND, will join the Wind Ensemble for a performance of music from Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto. The ensembles will combine forces to close the concert with performances of Ronald LoPresti's Elegy For a Young American and American Fanfare by John Wasson.
